Corinne Jacqueline Bailey is a singer, songwriter, and musician who is best known as ìCorinne Bailey Rae.î Rae was born on February 26, 1979 in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, and was recognized as the breakthrough performer in 2006, when her debut album was released.
Raeís experience in music started when she started studying classical violin. Eventually, she turned to singing in church ñ although not gospel singing as what most people assumed because of the color of her skin. After her experience in church, Rae was able to be introduced to many rock artists when one of her friends started to become obsessed with Lenny Kravitz.
Although still active in music, it was only after Rae got married that she started making her solo album and eventually released her debut album in 2006. Since then, she has received recognition for her music, such as being nominated for Grammy Awards. Just recently released her second album entitled, ìThe Seaî.
