Jay Leno is both a television host and an American stand-up comedian. He is well-known for his prominent jaw which had been depicted as mandibular prognathism. He is dyslexic and asserts that he only sleeps for four to five hours only each night, does not smoke or drink or gamble.
In 1992, he became the host of the Tonight Show but also continued to perform as a stand-up comedian throughout his term. He later signed a contract extension with NBC on 2004 that would keep him as a host until 2009.
Leno appeared as one of the many celebrity defense witnesses in the 2005 trial of Michael Jackson. He stated that he never called the police, no money was asked for and there was no incidence of coaching.
Last May 29, 2009, Leno left the Tonight Show while Conan OíBrien took over on June 1, 2009. His new show entitled The Jay Leno show debuted on the 14th of September 2009 in which his first guests were Jerry Seinfeld, Oprah Winfrey (via satellite) and a short sit-down with Kanye West.
