John Mayer, born John Clayton Mayer, is an American blues musician. He was born in October 16, 1977 and was raised in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Mayer already released four albums, with the first two studio albums, Room for Squares and Heavier Things, receiving commercial and critical success.
John Mayer started his career with acoustic rock but later changed to the blues in 2005 after several collaborations with popular blues artists such as Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy and B.B. King. In the same year, he also formed the John Mayer trio which consisted of himself, bassist Pino Palladino and renowned drummer Steve Jordan.
John Mayer began engaging in other projects such as the philanthropic Back to You Fund which focuses on raising funds for education, the arts, health care and talent development. It raises funds through the auction of John Mayer items.
Mayer has also begun to engage in writing, design and television.
