Star Rating    Colorful, irresistable fantasy musical, Love it.
There's just a little hint of darkness which contributes just enough edginess to the show that there's a contrast, a tension just underneath the surface.

Star Rating    Great show with my Daughter - Mary Poppins was fun
I took my daughter to see Mary Poppins in Denver last weekend and she loved it. She is 8 years old and we had to but the Mary Poppins umbrella on our way out. Don't call Disney stores - they don't carry anything from the play. See the show if it comes your way - its worth it.

Star Rating    Marry Poppins - FABULOUS
Although it has kind of a chic-flic story line, Marry Poppins, is enjoyable even for the manliest of men!

About Mary-Poppins
This is a 1964 musical film starring Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke. This Walt Disney production is based on the book series of the same name created by P. L. Travers and illustrated by Mary Shepard. It was directed by Robert Stevenson and written by Bill Walsh.

The production premiered on August 27, 1964 with Julie Andrews in the lead role and the Sherman Brothers handling the composition of the music and the musical scores. The role, which was her first movie debut after a successful career on stage, gave Andrews the Golden Globe and Academy awards for Best Actress. Dick Van Dyke was cast in the role of Bert after production execs saw his performance on the Dick Van Dyke show.

The show revolves around Mary Poppins, the new nanny for the Banks children who are notorious for being unruly and being sources of terror and exasperation for their previous nannies. Mary Poppins comes down to earth on a cloud and applies as the Banks’ nanny after the family’s latest nanny quits. What follows is a series of amazing adventures orchestrated by Poppins, who also becomes instrumental in improving the relationship between Mr. Banks and his children and in helping Mr. Banks get his job back.
