Nickelback is a world-famous rock band that
originated from Hanna, Alberta. The band was formed back in 1995 by members
Chad Kroeger, Mike Kroeger, Ryan Peake and drummer Brandon Kroeger.
It is one of the most commercially successful
Canadian band. The band has sold 30 million records worldwide and was ranked 11th
of the best selling music act of the 2000s and the 2nd best selling
foreign act in the United States behind The Beatles for the 2000s.
Nickelback’s first album and its releases was able
to enter the charts but was only played on local radio stations. Nickelback
received mainstream success from the years 2001-2007 with its album releases
including the Silver Side Up, The Long Road, and All the Right Reasons. From
2008 to the present, Nickelback has released the Dark Horse album with songs
including “Gotta Be Somebody”, “Something in Your Mouth”, and “If Today Was
Your Last Day”. On February 28, 2010, the band played a special performance at
the beginning of the concert portion of the 2010 Winter Olympics closing
ceremony.
Current members of Nickelback include Chad Kroeger
for lead vocals and lead guitar, Ryane Peake for rhythm guitar and backing
vocals, Mike Kroeger for bass guitar, and Daniel Adair for drums and backing
vocals.
