Oregon Ducks is a group of varsity teams that represent the University of Oregon to the NCCA Division I Pacific 10 Conference. The Ducks have been around for a number of years, and are composed of approximately 17 varsity teams that play certain sports such as basketball, football, volleyball, baseball, swimming, lacrosse, and gymnastics. They are, however, best known for the excellent performance of their track and field program as well as their football team.
Although currently without an athletic director, the Ducks still manage to face off with their main rivals while proudly wearing their team colors of yellow and gold. Among the many teams that the Ducks have faced, the Oregon State Beavers as well as the Washington Huskies have been their biggest competition so far.
Perhaps the most notable piece of history the Ducks have is its relationship with the athletic company, Nike. The co-founder of the well known brand, Phil Knight, used to be a member of the universityís track and field program together with Bill Bowerman.
