I loved it, hubby loved it, and even my little boy joined in while we belted out some of our favorite songs that are on the CD....

Rock of Ages is a jukebox or rock musical that was build around the classic rock hits from the 80s. Rock of Ages features songs from the decade’s most famous glam metal bands such as Journey, Styx, Pat Benatar, Bon Jovi, Steve Perry, Twisted Sister, Asia, Poison and many other well-known bands in the 1980s.
Rock of Ages has a book version by Chris D’Arienzo. The musical was choreographed by Kelly Devine and directed by Kristin Hanggi. The production is noted for its lighthearted and comedic approach. Actors are often seen to break the fourth wall and address the audience directly.
Rock of Ages premiered in Los Angeles in January 2006 where it at The Vanguard Hollywood for six weeks. It then began an Off-Broadway run at New World Stages on October 16, 2008 to January 4, 2009 in New York City. The production then transferred to Broadway’s Brooks Atkinson Theater.
Rock of Ages is known to provide a significant stage time for its band compared to other musical production’s bands and orchestras. The band is dressed up as metal heads and would always be seen on stage. The original Broadway casts of the production include Constantine Maroulis, Amy Spanger and James Carpinello.
