Shrek - just as funny as the movie
This is a great musical to take the kids to. It is just as funny as the movie - just no 3D...

About Shrek
Directed by Jason Moore, Shrek is a musical production based on the animated Dreamworks picture of the same name. Shrek first came out in film in 2001 and by 2002 Lindsay-Abaire and Jason Moore began initial work on the project before Jeanine Tesori joined the group in 2004.
The story revolves around a swamp ogre named Shrek who falls in love with an enchanted princess named Fiona. It premiered at the 5th Avenue Theater in Seattle, with its opening night on September 10 and closing on September 21 with Jason Moore as the director and Brian DíArcy playing Shrek and Sutton Foster as Princess Fiona.
Began previews on Broadway at the Broadway theater in 2008 with most of the reading cast and the director. It officially premiered on December 14, 2007 with DíArcy playing and Foster playing the main characters. It ended its run on January 3, 2010 after 442 performances. Plans for a filmed lived version of the show by Dreamworks are reportedly on the table.
